Schilling's Remote Systems EngineTM (RSETM) is a suite of modular building
blocks for performing underwater control, communication, power conditioning, propulsion, and
actuation. RSE products are designed for integration with each other and with third-party equipment.
All Schilling Robotics ROVs are based on RSE building blocks.
The RSETM fills the need for high-performance, deep-water components that are simple,
reliable, modular, easily configured, and easily operated. Since RSETM building blocks
are engineered to work together, customers can create a large variety of subsea machines that use
a minimum of basic devices. This component commonality reduces complexity and lowers spares
requirements and training costs.
The innovative RSETM components take advantage of new materials and new technologies,
such as compact power transformers, pressure-tolerant electronics, signal multiplexing, data
display techniques, and closed-loop vehicle control. The building blocks for communication and
control are designed for the easy addition of instruments, actuators, and tools. The building
blocks can be integrated directly into the design of subsea structures, such as seafloor oil
processing equipment, reducing task completion time and increasing predictability.
